The
Blackwood Arms is a traditional rural inn, located in an area of outstanding beauty.
We
serve real ales, great food and superb wines. As well as a very comfortable pub
and restaurant interior, we also have a relaxing, spacious beer garden.
Please
note that we are normally closed all day on Monday during the winter, except by
arrangement
For larger events,
we can provide a very high quality, wooden-floored marquee.
The
'New Inn beerhouse' as it was known until 1971, dates back to at least 1841. Littleworth
Common (also known as 'Widmore Common') is the focus of Dropmore Parish, which
extends for a radius of about 1.25 miles around it.
Both
names were used for the same piece of common land at the same time, though 'Widmore'
tends to be used on older maps and in the census and 'Littleworth' tends to be
used by more recent mapmakers and sign makers: both names can be traced to before
1770.
